Juanes ‘Mi Sangre’

Yesterday I went to Juanes‘ concert together with Klaas. Here is a clip of the concert’s opening song Sueños (not the actual opening in HMH) - defenitely one of our favorites…

It’s been a while since the last time I went to a concert. Usually I go to these big dance events like Dance Valley. Together with my big sis I dance the night away *ahum* , so going to a more ‘intimate’ concert with one singer and his band… was seriously refreshing!

Juanes is a Colombian singer-songwriter-guitarist who used to be in a heavy metal band. Six years ago he decided to quit his metal career and he moved to Los Angeles. There he met Gustava Santaolalla, together they created Juanes’ debut album ‘Fijate Bien’ and from there his career went… VAVAVOOOM!!! He wins prices, his music sells like crazy and he’s touring the world.

Although yesterday’s concert was about promoting Juanes’ third (latest) album ‘Mi Sangre’, he also played some songs from his second album ‘Un Día Normal’. I just bought ‘Mi Sangre’, but Klaas already bought ‘Un Día Normal’ a year ago or something. So when he played his new songs I was screaming (and trying to sing along) and when he played the older tracks it was Klaas who was screaming and singing along! We sure had a great time together :D

I especially liked the sound of Juanes’ music during the concert. Although his current style is so NOT metal, he did show us his metal roots by showing off his awesome guitar skills. During the concert he switched from acoustic to electric guitar. And he simply looked so darn sexy! Ok, I must admit I have a thing for electric guitars…

Haaa… the concert was a succes. I never thought buying tickets to a concert impulsively would lead to a great night with great music. And before I forget thanks Klaas for being my date to the concert !!! And er, thanks you liked my new outfit

P.S. For the ones who feel bored, you can still join the movie challenge !!! 8)

Shopping Girl

I’m at a public pc at Leiden University, but I managed to upload some photo’s of the items I got during a little shopping spree in Amsterdam & Leiden…

Chocolate/Bisque Striped Top | H&M Leiden Streetstyle Jeans | Amsterdam
Green shirt - I love the color | Amsterdam Cute bag | H&M Amsterdam

Next week Tanuki is organising a Harajuku Party. And the dresscode is Japanese Street Wear. Although Japanese Harajuku Lovers are pretty radical sometimes, I wanted an outfit I could actually wear during the day *gulp* I’m taking my outfit for a testdrive, because I’m going to wear it to Juanes‘ concert tonight ♥

The weather has been pretty good here in The Netherlands. And it really inspires me to go out and buy nice clothes for the hot spring/summer days. I want to get a bikini for my vacation in Portugal and I was browsing some items at H&M Amsterdam. Suddenly a girl said with a bitchy voice: “Well I’m not going to buy MY bikini at H&M this year. I don’t want to see dozen of other girls wearing the same one when I’m on the beach!”

Haha, I almost wanted to say: “Well, maybe if you’d stop going to all the typical vacation resorts you might find out you’re the only one who’s wearing it!” She really looked like the girl who always goes to a Spanish party island every summer, with loads of other Dutch girls. So it isn’t that strange to see girls wearing the same bikini, right? But I just kept my mouth shut and smiled.

Although I don’t like it when people close to me are wearing the same clothes as I do. I never have problems if a stranger buys the same top. I mean clothes aren’t the only thing. I believe it’s also about ‘wearing’ your clothes. People have a certain ‘air’ about them. And ofcourse clothes fit you or not…

Wrapping up with a shopping girl tip: Never believe you have to buy a complete set in the same store. Get your jeans at shop A and your top at shop B. Mix and match, that’s the way to go. Also if you like the ‘ready to wear fashion’ you see at Elle.com, but you don’t have the cash. Use the pics as inspiration and try to mix expensive ‘you just had to buy it’-items with bargain stuff. Er, that were 2 tips - right? Zya ne!
