Springtime!

Slowly the temperature rises, the sun is out more and I’m getting out of my hibernation fase. I’m a person who works on solar energy so I feel more and more energized. I still feel really tired at times, guess the flu isn’t totally gone. Perfect excuse to take it easy and use my time to plan fun outings and get inspired…

Yesterday I went to get a haircut and decided to let the hairdresser take at least 10cm or almost 4 inches off. I love long hair and it already grew to just over my shoulderblades, but my hair really took a beating during the winter due to the centralheating - I just had to take it off. So what does my hair look like now? After washing out the crap my hairdresser put in my hair and treating it with a super softmaking product from Guhl… my hair suddenly resembles that of Juanes !!! I simply adore him

Juanes hair is just so LO-VE-LY *sigh* Evian Brumisateur nice for freshing up
Juanes 'Mi Sangre Tour' ticket Sean Paul

After my trip to the hairdresser I still had to see one more ’specialist’ my dentist. My mom, dad and big brother also had to go. They all had something ‘wrong’, but my teeth were OK *phew* My dentist is a pretty relaxed guy, maybe a little too relaxed. Although I have slight overbite, my dentist never told me to get braces. It never bothered me much, but now I just want to get it done. So my new nickname will soon be ‘braceface’ *ugyuu*

This layout is still rather new and I’m not really fast with layouts. But when I saw Sean Paul’s new video of ‘Temperature’, which I love btw, I just got really inspired by some of the color schemes. So I’ll be working on a new more colorful layout. And next to listening to Juanes I started to listen to Sean Paul’s ‘Trinity’ again. Yeahhh, his latest track is currently on repeat. Oh - about rising temperature… be sure to try Evian’s Brumisateur, it really helps freshen you up!

Unfortunately life can’t do without drama. At the attic my mom stores all our out of season coats. My brother took one of my coats (my sister gave it to me) and because I wasn’t wearing it myself, he probably thought it was ok to give/sell it to his girlfriend  I found out and demanded they gave it back. My brother promised to return my coat, but it’s taking 2 days now already. His girlfriend knows it’s not his jacket and was given to her without my permission, still she doesn’t return the jacket herself! Ugh, I knew my brother was an idiot, but this really___ ARGHHHH!

To cheer myself up I’ve decided to go to a concert of Juanes’ Mi Sangre Tour. He’s going to perform next week in the HMH. I also managed to get Klaas to go with me, with his knowledge of the Spanish language (I only understand a few words) he’ll be a good date *tee-hee* Life’s too good to bitch about a brother and his girlfriend who don’t want to return a jacket that’s actually so out of season.

But stealing is still a big NONO NOOOO !!!

Thanks everbody who commented and a very big thank you goes out to everyone who joined the movie challenge !

[edit] My brother visited his girlfriend and ‘forgot’ to take my jacket home. It seems she also doesn’t want to return it. So I decided to strike a deal, my brother is going to pay me € 60,- for the ‘old so out of season why did you want to steal it in the first place’ jacket. The deal even has my parents’ seal of approval. And the stupid girlfriend can *bleep* it where the light doesn’t shine  [/edit]

Explore!

So yesterday I went to Amsterdam to go see ‘Memoires of a Geisha’ in Tuschinski together with Klaas. Unfortunately I didn’t make a reservation and so I found out all tickets were soldout! So there I was, still feeling ill and with no movie to go to *sigh* Klaas and I decided to go have a drink at Cafe De Jaren (The Years) - interesting place, but their hot cocoa tasted horrible! And I like good cocoa~ during my early years in High School (ugh I sound old this way) together with a friend we ordered hot cocoa at different café’s and lunchrooms in my hometown. We planned on rating each hot cocoa we tried, although we never got to making a top 5 I still like to try the hot cocoa at every place I go *sigh*

I was so looking forward to the popcorn and the Ben & Jerry icecream. Luckily Klaas still had some movies he wanted to see and thought some of them I would find interesting too. So we ended up seeing ‘Syriana‘ a politically-charged epic about the state of the oil industry in the hands of those personally involved and affected by it. Starring George Clooney, Matt Damon and others… maybe I’ll write a review about it later. I thought it was a interesting movie and I can really recommend it to everyone. Later that day we watched the DVD of ‘In the Mood for Love‘ from Wong Kar Wai, a great movie about a man and a woman whose spouses are having an affair. It’s a bittersweet love movie *argh* And defenitely one you really should try to get your hands on!

Syriana In The Mood For Love

Our ’movie marathon’ really made me think more and more of a challenge I came across while surfing the web. I lost the site, but I’m thinking of setting up a similar challenge on my website. I won’t give away the details now, sorry. Although it seems spring is late in The Netherlands this year, I feel something is stirring inside of me. It feels like Sturm & Drang again… and I want to go out and explore! This summer I’ve already planned a vacation together with my mom, dad & big sister (my brother has to work during summer). We’re going to the Algarve in Portugal, for the 2nd time. This time we’re going to stay in Praia da Luz and travel to Lisbon and Sevilla (Spain) during our stay in Portugal! I’m going to make the first downpayment next week :D

Next year Klaas may be going to Madrid for 6 months or so. He’s not sure if he’s accepted (he had to apply for the trip), but if he’s going I’m going to visit him during spring. I told him he’s pretty boring and I’ll do the travelling without him ;) My mom told me Klaas kinda looks like my dad when it comes to travelling. My dad never planned a trip, it was always my mother who had to convince him to come with her  Ugh~ that’s soooo Klaas! I still plan on going to Japan next year, but it may be a trip limited to only Tokyo or Tokyo and Kyoto instead of a whole month travelling several places in Japan. But I don’t mind, there’s so much to do and so little time (not even talking about money).

Right, I’ll be back later with the whole ‘challenge’ thing  I feel an edit coming up…

Are you up for the challenge?

I’ve decided to set up the first challenge ‘watch 150 movies in the year 2006′. An easy one for the true moviefan, but are YOU up for it? Want to know more, be sure to check the ‘challenges‘ in the Visitor section (big blue butterfly) *ahem*

Back, again?

Hahaha, blame it on the flu! I started thinking about subdomains and ‘getting to a place you want to be - fast’. I wanted to interact with visitors through my writings, but suddenly I found myself trapped in this writersblock. I didn’t know what to write about without thinking it would be lame or boring

I didn’t want to focus on blog entries anymore and decided to go ’static’, yet I started MEMO and thought to myself: “If I still want to keep on blogging by setting up a new blog. Why don’t I just continue blogging on my main domain?” Pretty simple actually… so I decided to make MEMO my testblog (always handy to have a place to test new layouts and such). And brought a blog back to my main domain.

Guess the flu did fry my brain a little ;) Anyway it’s good to be back and I promise I WILL keep my blog here. No more moving around!

So, what have I been up to (next to moving around blogs)? I’m still recovering from the flu at my parents’ place. It seems everybody has gotten the flu after I did! My dad got sick, but he’s feeling better now. Now my mom is sick in bed and my brother isn’t feeling well either *sigh* Luckily I feel much better, but I do get tired fast. I’m hoping I feel better at the end of the day. I want to see ‘Memoires of a Geisha’ in the cinema in Amsterdam together with Klaas and I’m so craving for a bucket of ‘Ben & Jerry’ icecream! I promised myself to get a pint at the theatre *hihihi*

I’m also listening to the new album of Bløf ‘Umoja’, I always like songs in English more… But with Bløf you find out how beautiful the Dutch language can be! I’m also listening to Juanes ‘Mi Sangre’ a lot. I love his sound! He used to be one of Klaas’ fav artists, so when I phoned Klaas to tell him I got his album he was pretty suprised and he wanted to borrow it! Well that’s good, I’m going to ask Klaas to help me out with the Spanish lyrics.

I’ve also watched some nice movies, just yesterday ‘Galaxy Quest’ was on TV. A story about castmembers of a sci-fi series who find themselves trapped in a real sci-fi adventure. I love sci-fi series (al variations of Star Trek) so I really enjoyed the movie. You can find it easily at IMDb if you want to know more about it. After ‘Galaxy Quest’ they aired ‘Cableguy’ - ugh, it’s such and old movie now… But, I so enjoyed it. I think I’ve also seen it with German voiceovers once (that means I’ve seen it a lot *uhhh*)

Allrighty, I think I’ve blogged enough for now. Gonna check on my mom if she needs something. Bai bai for now, hope you like the new but simple layout!

Please note:
The butterflies are the ‘Pour-soi.net’ navigation!
