Strawberry Strike
Back in my hometown after spending a short week in Leiden and Amsterdam. In the end Klaas didn’t show me any oilpainting tricks, but we sure had a nice time together just talking, listening to music and watching the evening news

I started my week in Leiden with a Tanuki Boardmember meeting. This acadamic year is almost over, but we still have loads to do. We want to give a final party at a beachclub in Scheveningen somewhere in June, I’m so looking forward to it !!!
We also need to find new boardmembers and take care of our compensation. I didn’t know it when I became a boardmember, but we actually get money at the end! One of the former boardmembers who also happends to be a friend of mine received almost € 700,– !!!
I had a date with Klaas the evening after my meeting. After getting my stuff together I went to Amsterdam. I’m kinda ashamed to admit this, but although we’re not officially boyfriendxgirlfriend I have my own shampoo, shower gel, bodybutter, facewash, day- & nightcream and yes — toothbrush at Klaas’ place. And yes I stored my stuff at his place after we broke up. The only thing I don’t have is my hairdryer, which he happily wanted to accept as a gift when I planned on buying a new one! Erm, having my stuff at his place is not really healthy, is it?
Klaas had classes the next day. Luckily he was able to give me a ride to the city centre and he happend to drop me off at the faculty where I will be following my Communication Science classes after summervacation! I decided to go windowshopping and I found this nice € 100,- dress at Mango. Still kinda expensive for a broke college student, but maybe I can cut a deal with my parents and especially my sister who wants to give my birthday present early
Before getting back to Leiden I got myself a big Strawberry Strike from Shakies, you can find a store at most of the big trainstations in The Netherlands. Ugh I’m so addicted to strawberries! I ate loads of strawberries this week *sigh*
Although I didn’t do much in Leiden it was great spending time in my room again. I was able to take care of my orchid, clean up my room and of course talk to my study co-ordinator this morning! Everything went ok, we talked about loads of stuff and she was very positive of the fact I was seriously contemplating my whole college career and more. So after summer vacation I will be studying Communication Science and Japanese !!!
Insane!
I know it’s truly insane, but I’m currently the proud owner of a Sega Master System II, a Gameboy, a Gameboy Color, a Playstation, and two Playstation 2 Slimline editions. And yes, I own both colors that are available in The Netherlands: the ‘charcoal black’ and the ’silver’ edition
Some time ago I helped my mom pick out a new mobile phone, the Sony Ericsson Z520i. My mom was so glad I helped her out, she decided to give me the gift that came with her new phone a whole new Playstation 2 !!!

I already bought a Playstation 2 for my room in Leiden about a year ago. I kept all my old Playstation games at home because I still had my old Playstation there and my brother also owned a Playstation 2. Now my brother has found a job at Ameland, one of the Wadden islands, and because he’s sorta living there he took his Playstation 2 with him. I was always able to play on his Playstation 2 when I got home, but that wasn’t possible anymore…
I donated my DVD player to my parents long ago (originally bought for my room at my parents’ place), so I didn’t have much entertainment in my room left *sigh* My mom felt bad for me my brother left me with a old rundown Playstation and decided to give me a new one. So I can play games and watch DVD’s back home too! Ok ok, I also have a pc at my parents’ place, but it just isn’t the same. Haha, sorry — I know it’s kinda INSANE
Easter Weekend was perfect! I spend time with my mom, dad and big sister. Yesterday we visited my grandma, it seemed she really enjoyed our visit. Sure made me happy to see her happy
We also went out for dinner at Markt 4-6, the food was really good! And I wanted to lose some of my winterfat *sigh* All those chocolate easter eggs and icecream. I’m taking it easy today and luckily I’ll be returning to Leiden tomorrow, I always seem to lose weight when I’m there. I’m going to sleepover at Klaas’ place in Amsterdam though, I will make him show me ‘the oilpainting ways’ tee-hee
Friday I’ll have an appointment with my study co-ordinator, but she already mailed me it’s possible to finish my Japanese BA on a slower rate than usual. So theoretically I’m allowed to study Communication Science and Japanese. I felt bad throwing all the grades I already got away and it could be a very nice combination. Nnnkay, I hope you all had a very nice Easter Weekend too !!!
Lucky Clover ?
This time, as promised, a non anime post. And er, sorry about that (posting two anime posts). I was really tired because of all the movie hunting for the 150 movie challenge. And I still had to finish the next Tanuki Journal. I was pretty beat and could only sleep, read some books, watch anime and laugh-laugh-laugh
Now I finally feel somewhat relaxed and pretty happy. Maybe it’s because of a four leaf clover…

I’ve always loved to take care of plants and help raise them
Last summer I managed to raise some nice dwarf sunflowers. It was great to see them come out of their little seeds and later in full bloom. Unfortunately snails liked them too and ate them
This year, thanks to my mom and dad, I managed to raise the little clover ♥ Although I do feel it’s bringing me luck, it’s officialy not a true lucky four leaf clover. You can read more about lucky clovers here.
Next to reading, raising plants and watch loads of movies and anime, I’ve decided to pick up an old hobby. Ok well, I just loved doing it in art class - painting. I bought a really cool wooden artist case with some brushes and even a model! It also came with oilpaint *gulp* I’ve never worked with THAT before. So next week Klaas is going teach me the the basics. He currently paints a lot with oilpaint and thinks it’s his favorite type, so he’s the perfect guy person to show me how it all works
Still working out all the details of starting a new study. I’m thinking about combining my new study ‘communication science’ with my current study ‘Japanese’. I’m halfway my BA at Leiden U and maybe it’s possible to finish it while I’m studying at University of Amsterdam. It’s going to be hard, but ‘communication science’ will get the most attention. I’ve mailed my study co-ordinator asking if a combination is possible (and allowed) and if I can talk to her about it somewhere next week. Unfortunately she’s a very busy person, so I hope I will receive an answer at the end of the week. Wish me goodluck!
Thanks for commenting on my anime posts even if some of you never even watched anime
