Although I could lay back, relax and next to the usual computer stuff simply enjoy doing nothing
I decided to look for a temporary job during the summer. I already landed a catering job at TT Circuit Assen during the Dutch TT. But last week I received a short text message if I could also work yesterday at Festival Mundial in Tilburg as an ice cream seller. Because I also want to get more work experience next to earning some cash I decided to take the job.
Too be honest it was kinda insane. Tilburg is around 230 kilometers or 142.9 miles from my hometown and the job agency
So my colleagues and I wondered why they couldn’t get people for the job close by. It turned out to be a clear warning sign *gulp* Luckily the job agency had rented two cars so we could drive to Tilburg, it was a 3 hours drive with toilet and smoking breaks
We started working from 12h00 till 22h00 and left the festival close to 23h00 — and yeah after that two tired colleagues who also had to work for 10 hours straight without an official break had to drive back again!
I really feel for them - it was really hard. The girl who drove our car almost broke down *gulp*
But luckily there were things that made working in the bad conditions we were in still fun. I had to sell icecream near the Millenium Stage and saw some great perfomances of Absent Minded, Intwine, Postman & KANE
Also seeing all the happy faces of the little kids whose parents bought them icecream made me forget I still had to take a break. Also some parents really reminded me of my parents when I was little. Although some kids were defenitely too young for a Magnum-like icecream, parents still bought them because it made their kids smile even more. Haha my parents have always pampered their kids waaaay too much (?). I’m just glad I made it through the day, it sure was a somewhat nice experience!
I pimped up my notebook with an über-cute wallpaper from www.mongovillage.net, if you haven’t heard of it - be sure to check it out! I so love the tiny birdies わあああああい~ ちょうかわいい !!! And I decided to install The Sims 2 too. I’m thinking about buying the Open For Business Expansion Pack
I also received the UvA registration forms, I will be filling them in and sending them back today.

Spoiled Little Brat

Today I feel like the most spoiled little brat there is! After talking 2 years about saving money for a notebook or buy one with one of those dirty buy it in 5 years plans, I finally got a one! I guess my parents felt kinda sorry for me talking about it that much, but never getting closer to actually buying one
娘はかわいいそうですね。 So last weekend my dad told me I could spend a certain amount of money and pick out a notebook and include all basic stuff like a computer bag and mouse. I went on the internet to do some research and made a wishlist.
I definitely didn’t think my dad wanted to get my laptop soon, my birthday is more than a week away. But today he wanted to go to the shop and he told me he wanted to check if they had everything I had on my wishlist so I wouldn’t have to order through internet. Suddenly he told me there wasn’t much difference if he bought the notebook now, tomorrow or a week later! And he told me I could take it home today
I seriously felt like I was dreaming. All day the weather had been all grey and cloudy, walking back to the car with all the stuff… it felt so unreal. Like I was in another dimension or something
でも夢じゃない。 Haha, I guess my brain had not yet caught up to reality.
For the fans, the specs of my Packerd Bell Easynote R0900 :

- ATI Radeon Xpress 200M | 128 MB
- Widescreen 15.4 inch with Diamond View

I’ve always been a big fan of omake, my notebook came together with a free Targus Computer Case! And of course my dad wanted me to get the full package, so I included a mouse and a Creative Headset (with microphone)
わあああい~オマケが大好きだよ。 My dad so liked the mobile factor of my notebook and the fact it can go wireless, he also wants to set up a wireless network at home. So I can go online while sitting in our garden
Sounds great ne!
Okay I’m off, gonna clear my desk and play around with my notebook, er - yes I’m still typing this on my (family) desktop
Don’t worry old trustworthy pc, I’m not gonna abandon you! And of course thanks mom and dad for buying me this awesome early birthday gift

Before I forget, my secret fangirl technique usually is: staring like a lovefool at the dj not taking my eyes of him. Haha it’s easy to do with Tiësto - but I also stare at the cool light effects. It usually keeps ‘interested’ guys on a save distance, but not last time *sigh* Next time I will add the ‘mister/sir’ part if an old geezer shows up - eeew!

Crash & Burn

わあああ~ 疲れたいた。 | Ugh~ I’m BEAT!
Last week has been crazy busy. I survived Tiësto’s album celebration party, attended the interesting reading about Yasukuni (?), attended the Tanuki Boardmeeting, finished Tanuki’s final party posters and tickets, found out there was a problem with the band who plays on the party, went windowshopping with my big sister in Almere, got into a dramatic argument with Klaas and during the week my back hurt like … - it still does
But spending time with my family in my hometown at the end of the week has defenitely cheered me up. And the great weather - close to 30° Celsius - really makes me smile too, still I’m BEAT!
Let’s rewind to the fun part at the start of last week. I went to an album celebration party of my favorite dj - Tiësto
in the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. I hadn’t seen him perform for quite some time, so I was really looking forward to seeing him again. At the party he presented his latest album ‘In Search of Sunrise 5 Los Angeles’. The music was great and it was fun to dance next to people who were also enjoying the party. But unfortunately Tiësto didn’t make much contact with the audience and looked like he was waaaay to much into his dj-ing *sigh* Oh well I still had a great time! I found out Tiësto has remixed the Pirates of Caribbean theme song
You can read more about it here!
When I’m at a big dance event I really don’t like guys trying to hit on me. I usually use my secret fangirl technique to keep guys on a save distance. But this time it didn’t work
A guy and his friends offered my sister and me (closed) Flügel bottles. I don’t take drinks from strangers and I don’t do alcohol when I’m at a concert. But my sister accepted and just when I turned to my sister to laugh about the stupid offer she already finished one! The guy started to talk to my sister and one of his friends tried chatting with me. This guy looked 30-ish that’s around the same age as my sister, but not for me - that’s waaay too old! Luckily I managed to brush him off by turning my fangirlism up a notch
Maybe I should’ve said: “Yes mister, I think the party is nice too. Tiësto sure is CUTE - I want to marry him!”
わあああい~ だって好きだもん。Hm, I’m sure I would already get him at ‘mister’. I’ll save that for the next time I meet and old guy. はは~ おじさんはだめですよ。
Meh Klaas and I have arrived at a breaking point again. I don’t like to push him, but sometimes it’s nice to know where this relationship is going. Well summervacation has arrived, so having a breather could be a good idea. I’ve already got a whole ‘to do list during summer’ to keep myself busy without having to think about our relationship since my thoughts seem to go round in a circle *sigh* My plans for the summer:
- Work on my websites
- Study Japanese grammar & kanji
- Start with online course Spanish for Beginners
- Get creative, maybe start T-shirt Design Shop with my big brother
- Keep on powerwalking
What about you - what plans do you have for summer vacation ?
