A little patience

What's inside the box? Ceramic White Value Pack & LocoRoco
All the PSP stuff inside the box Lara is back in Tomb Raider: Legend

Finally after waiting at least one whole year, thinking about importing a ceramic white PSP straight from Japan for months, realizing the white version hit Dutch shores just a few months ago… I finally got my hands on a ceramic white Sony Playstation Portable or PSP with the über funky game LocoRoco  I’m not sure if it’s going to be my motto, but I believe patience will always be rewarded. Of course it’s great to get your hands on something right away, but after having to wait a little while *sigh* Somehow it tastes much more sweet

I also bought Tomb Raider: Legend for PSP. I must say the controls take some time to get used to, but overall it’s a nice game :) I showed the game to Klaas and he immediately got hooked on it. He used to play Tomb Raider games on the PC, so he was really interested in checking out Lara’s adventure. And of course Lara’s new look. He turned the camera to get a better look of the surroundings, but also got a pretty good view of Lara. He kept on saying: “Can you see the rocks on the background, they look… special. I’m sure we have to head that way.” :P I just couldn’t resist teasing him he was just checking out Lara’s rocks.

He didn’t like LocoRoco though, I guess it’s because it’s so colorful - waaaaaaaaaay too colorful for a tough guy like him  Still I definitely love to play it, but if you’re playing it too long it becomes repetitive so I’m glad I can play Tomb Raider too. I’m still looking into getting an import game, maybe a Japanese RPG or something :D I’m so happy the PSP is region free, did you know the Playstation 3 will also be region free? Ahh can you see the possibilities?

I’m really happy with my PSP, luckily I’m able to resist the urge to play 24/7. I still have loads of homework to do, next week I have a presentation and an exam coming up *sigh* Luckily there’s my PSP to take my mind off things even when I’m sitting in the train! Ahh gotta get back to doing homework now…

Tanuki 05/06

Sushi from AH to go! Sushi from AH to go!
Book Gift Certificate 黄桜 かっぱ デミタス SAKE

Today I had my second Tanuki Constitution Drink Reception. Just one year ago I presented myself as a new boardmember of 2005/2006, this year I welcomed the new board of 2006/2007 and closed a very successful year filled with great activities :D And of course I received a thank you present - a little bottle of 黄桜 sake and a € 20,- book gift certificate! I think it’s a great gift, thank you very much !!! I really enjoyed writing the Tanuki journal and taking care of the website. I also learned a lot from working together with other people and although I could’ve been a bit more active, I really had a great time being a Tanuki boardmember

At the constitution drink reception I talked to a fellow student Japanese who I only talked to once or twice, but we did follow the same classes. We started to talk about why I decided to take more time for my study Japanese. I told him one of the reasons I decided to focus on Communication Science was because I wasn’t sure about my qualities as a student Japanese. He told me he always thought I was a pretty good student! It kinda shocked me… - ugh, I’m glad my motivation is on a healthy level now. So I’ve been a really good girl lately and I’m studying very hard 勉強  !!!

I finally bought some sushi [寿司] at AH To Go - the convenient store version of my favorite supermarket :) I’m always a little weary when it comes to super fresh products like sushi turned into ‘ready to eat’ packages, but the maki [巻き] kobachi [小鉢] was pretty nice :P I think I’ll do a sushi lunch at least once a week. Now that were heading towards fall the temperature is dropping, good for keeping a sushi lunchbox tasty  Ahh makes me wanna go to the little Japanese supermarket in Amsterdam *sigh* I promised some pictures of Amsterdam the last time, but I forgot to bring my camera. I hope I won’t forget tomorrow!

On Warp Speed

It’s monday already? Time seems to zapping by on warp speed  I had a very nice weekend at my parents’ place. It was the last time I would see my parents and my sister before they go on their vacation to Portugal. I asked my mom if she would like me to see them off at the airport, but she was afraid it would only make her cry (I decided to cancel my trip because of college) :( So I said goodbye to them during the weekend.

Because my brother and I won’t be going to Portugal my parents decided to take the two of us to Pacific Plaza a fancy Chinese & Japanese restaurant :D I hoped there would be a good looking Japanese waiter, but unfortunately I had to settle with a really handsome Dutch waiter  Haha~ I definitely didn’t mind! The food was really good and I had a great time.

After an active year at Tanuki Student Association, I’m thinking about becoming an active member at Mercurius - the student association for students of Communication Science in Amsterdam. Although I wrote the journal for Tanuki last year, I’ve decided to not go for the Mercurius magazine this year. I first want to find out more about the magazine. Maybe I’ll go for a position in the Freshmen Committee this year and write for the magazine next year :)

All the homework keeps me busy enough though :P I managed to play some videogames last week, I’m currently playing Arc the Lad: Twilight of Spirits. It’s a solid RPG and I almost finished it. Because I live in The Netherlands I have to wait for more interesting games, like ‘Dirge of Cerberus’ and of course ‘FFXII’ *sigh* Oh well, at least I’m busy with a game :D
