Tanuki 05/06

Today I had my second Tanuki Constitution Drink Reception. Just one year ago I presented myself as a new boardmember of 2005/2006, this year I welcomed the new board of 2006/2007 and closed a very successful year filled with great activities
And of course I received a thank you present - a little bottle of 黄桜 sake and a € 20,- book gift certificate! I think it’s a great gift, thank you very much !!! I really enjoyed writing the Tanuki journal and taking care of the website. I also learned a lot from working together with other people and although I could’ve been a bit more active, I really had a great time being a Tanuki boardmember
At the constitution drink reception I talked to a fellow student Japanese who I only talked to once or twice, but we did follow the same classes. We started to talk about why I decided to take more time for my study Japanese. I told him one of the reasons I decided to focus on Communication Science was because I wasn’t sure about my qualities as a student Japanese. He told me he always thought I was a pretty good student! It kinda shocked me… - ugh, I’m glad my motivation is on a healthy level now. So I’ve been a really good girl lately and I’m studying very hard 勉強
!!!
I finally bought some sushi [寿司] at AH To Go - the convenient store version of my favorite supermarket
I’m always a little weary when it comes to super fresh products like sushi turned into ‘ready to eat’ packages, but the maki [巻き] kobachi [小鉢] was pretty nice
I think I’ll do a sushi lunch at least once a week. Now that were heading towards fall the temperature is dropping, good for keeping a sushi lunchbox tasty
Ahh makes me wanna go to the little Japanese supermarket in Amsterdam *sigh* I promised some pictures of Amsterdam the last time, but I forgot to bring my camera. I hope I won’t forget tomorrow!

Well, I’m not so sure what you mean by Tanuki drink and boardmember, but congrats nonetheless… My little sister loves sushi, I don’t really crave it. It’s OK. Good thing that you study hard, school is hard if you don’t. Au revoir!

That must have been good to hear that he thought you were a good student, eh?
I usually get sushi in a box, it tastes okay for me… though, I’ve never been to an actual sushi resturant. Ah~ Now I want to go get some sushi.
Haha, its been my goal to buy some sake when I turned 21, and you just reminded me. I must go get some of my own!

It’s great that you had a great time being a Tanuki Boardmember. I’ve never heard of it or anything, though. You say you had a great time… does that mean that in welcoming the new board you’re not a board member anymore? It’s a bit confusing
It’s good that you’re studying hard, and awesome that he thought you were a good student
I’ve never had sushi… as wimpy as it makes me sound, it kinda freaks me out haha

RE: Miranda
Yeah that’s right, I’m not a boardmember anymore. Tanuki - the student association for students of the Japanese language and culture - refreshes their boardmembers each year. Of course you can decided to stay, but usually people stay in the board for one year

Must’ve been good to hear, that he thinks you’re a good student.
I’ve never had sushi. I want to try it sometime but my mum had it a while back and she said she didn’t like it (and she usually likes any type of food).

Augh!
I’m always too lazy to make myself a packed-lunch, even though I absolutely love the idea, but like all things, procrastination seems to take over all other functions! Heh, but here in Oz, we have a very sweet little sushi chain that sells fresh such hand-rolls and separates for surprisingly good prices!
Yummy! n___nV
