Keane at Ahoy

Yesterday I went to see Keane at Ahoy in Rotterdam, alone
My big sister thought I was crazy for going alone, but I couldn’t find a concertbuddie who was willing to pay for his or her own ticket *ugh* I felt fed up for always paying other people’s tickets in advance and having to drag them to see an artist they don’t even like half as much as I do
I already missed several sold-out concerts in The Netherlands so I couldn’t wait for them to return in 2007. Without any hesitation I decided to buy a ticket right after they went on sale
Keane is a piano rock band from Battle, Sussex, South East England. There are 3 bandmembers: Tim Rice-Oxly (composer, writer and pianist), Tom Chaplin (lead vocals, organ) & Richard Hughes (percussion). They are known for using a piano as their lead instrument instead of using guitars, unlike most rock bands
However, they do make use of effects pedals and synthesizers, giving them a wide range of sounds not limited to traditional piano tones
Their first two studio albums, Hopes and Fears and Under the Iron Sea achieved number one status in the U.K. upon release and have achieved very high sales worldwide, notably in Europe (more).
After getting my hands on a ticket I heard Tom was admitted to a rehab and several concerts were cancelled
I couldn’t believe it, I finally got a ticket - but on this rate
Luckily the concert at Ahoy wasn’t cancelled and Tom got better! I really loved every minute of the concert, Tom’s voice was so clear and pure - he did really great
He came so close to the audience, I could almost touch him!!! どきどき I also couldn’t take my eyes of Tim, the pianist, he plays so awesome and he’s sooo my type
*hahaha* They performed songs of their old and new album, so everybody was able to sing along!
Er~ You never heard of Keane before? Read on to see Keane perform ‘Everybody’s Changing’ LIVE at Wireless Festival in London for a taste of their music and concert atmosphere. I must say Keane was GREAT at Ahoy Rotterdam
