The Experiment
I’m beat! After my classes in Amsterdam I travelled to my hometown to conduct a little experiment for Methods of Research. With a few fellow students I need to do research on the readability of an article in a newspaper
We want to find out if changing the font would impact the readability, so during our own experiment we need to observe the response to the original text and the manipulated text
Of course we need to look at some other things too during the experiment, but oh well~
I think it’s pretty fun to set up an experiment even though there are loads of things to keep in mind
For example, it’s better to have a group that’s rather homogeneous! This way you are able to measure the effect of the experiment without having to worry about things that can also cause a difference like being male or female
But if the group is too homogeneous you won’t be able to make a general statement about the effect of the experiment!

I’ve added new scans of the latest Cosmopolitan UK edition, you can find them in the visitor section (2nd bunny)
 Please remember that these are mini scans, but you can request the original fullsized scan if you want to!

this new layout is awesome. sweet colors… lovely! well i need to change my layout too… experiments are fun, but results are not always the ones expected! good luck with that though!!!
Pff ik vond onderzoeken en experimenten altijd zo ingewikkeld… Wij moesten dat bij Gezondheidswetenschappen ook altijd doen en pff ik werd er altijd heel moe van ![]()
ooo new layout, i want to have a new layout too .. but i’m way too lazy to do anything >_>;; i bet once i’m done .. winter is long gone .. hahaha X3
Oh, believe me!! I know a lot about experiments from AP Psych, AP Stats (!!! the whole class is based on statistics of experiments, etc.), and AP Bio. You have to worry about wording bias, undercoverage, sampling, population, and so much more. Arghhh.. xD I know how you feel.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

I’m doing usability testing at work right now and everything you mentioned just makes me giggle b/c it’s so true!
Thanks for the mini-scans! =3
