Madrid Finale

Continued from Madrid Again ~
:cafe:
On Saturday we decided to save some energy and just take it easy with a Latte at Miau on Plaza de Santa Ana which is close to my favorite neighborhood Huertas with great little bars and restaurants! A woman asked me in Spanish for directions, but since I was totally ‘lost in translation’ I pointed her to Klaas
Now I’m totally serious about learning Spanish! We also visited an internet cafe so I was able to send an email to my parents and let them know I was still OK. Got some groceries and headed back home.
That night we hooked up with a friend of Klaas. She wanted us to show a ‘cool place to hang out’ somewhere in Lavapies before going to a club. We took a stroll through Lavapiés, but the ‘place’ - run by junks - wasn’t really ‘cool’ at all
People were sitting on the floor on rugs, there was cigarette smoke everywhere and I really started to feel uncomfortable, because I was so overdressed
Klaas noticed how uncomfortable I felt and told his friend we wanted to get out of there. She told us she wanted to stay and didn’t want to club anymore. I felt kinda bummed because at Klaas’ place she was totally into going out and all.
Klaas and I decided to go to Palacio de Gaviria an awesome club
:twinkle: If you’re in Madrid, be sure to check out this place! The building, music, people were great ~ There was also a very hot dancer with no shirt on *gulp* I had to laugh because Klaas kept on repeating how well toned his muscles were
I actually wanted to capture his dancing on tape, but I also didn’t want to act all tourist like so *ugh* I enjoyed the house room the most, it was great - the dj even played a remix of a song I used to listen to loads so I was able to sing-a-long !!!

On Sunday we had a lovely day in the park El Retiro
the weather was great! After relaxing in the park, eating some icecream, drinking a Latte - we headed towards the Real Jardin Botánico to enjoy the flowers and make interesting ‘currently reading a book’ photographs. I bought some presents for my loved ones back home and we enjoyed a final dinner at my favorite place La Colonial. Even though I only stayed for a short weekend, it felt like a whole week had gone by!

Because I didn’t feel like paying € 30,- for a cab that would bring me to Barajas, Airport - Klaas and I decided to take the subway. This also meant we had to wait for 4 hours since I had to take an early flight on Monday morning. Klaas was so sweet to stay with me during those long hours :saylove:
I had a great time and I definitely want to visit Madrid for a longer period sometime in the future!
