Carpe Noctem

Last night I went to Tiësto’s concert at Gelredome, Arnhem :saylove:  The show was part of his big Elements of Life tour and I must say I enjoyed every minute of it! I fell in love with dj Tiësto just before he got his big break with his hit single Flight 643 and first saw him live during a 9 hours Royal Set (Dutch Dimensions 02.02.2002). Now 5 years later - I really love how his style has evolved ~

The evening started with a very nice performance of JES signed under Tiësto’s Black Hole recordings / Magik Musik - she also does the vocals for the song EVERYTHING on Tiësto’s new cd, hahaha~ yes the one that inspired me to do this layout. But I didn’t know she also sung the song from Motorcycle ‘As the rush comes…’ - I went totally crazy when she started to sing the song. It’s so one of my favorites and I screamed along even though the song was released some years ago! Don’t remember the song? It seems you can listen to her stuff here on her website :P Kyaaaaaa~ I want to have her album now!

Tiësto started off doing more of his new rocktronic style. It was so cool, because I really felt like I was at a live poprock concert! It felt so fresh and new and different and good - it blew my mind! I love how Tiësto is pushing his limits, exploring new things :) I read about how he’s also influenced by German minimal - you could really sense it in the music he played during the night. Next to that he played a lot of older songs which were all my favorites. So everytime he started to mix over to the next song I recognized them early on and screamed my lungs out. Haha~ yes I acted like a true fangirl :twinkle:  But it’s so exciting when your favorite dj picks out a song you’ve also played on your stereo in your own bedroom while dancing around in your underwear ~

The visuals during the concert were very beautiful too! I really liked all the footage on the immensive videowall supporting the whole ‘elements of life’ theme. Next to that the water and fireworks were pretty nice too ~ I really think this is my most favorite Gelredome - Arnhem performance (out of 3), because of the good mix between the new rocktronic style and all my old(er) favorite songs  :crown: I still think I like the ambiance of his performances at HMH in Amsterdam more, because it’s more intimate with 5.000 people instead of 25.000 at the Gelredome.

Dear Tijs,
Thank you for the great evening - I loved every minute of it! You looked hot as usual *sigh* Please keep up the good work ~ :P  xoxo
