Mom, I’m OK !
Mothers can be such a pain, but in the end they are so sweet too… *sigh*
Today I went to Amsterdam to hand in the big research paper at university, on my way back to Leiden my mom called me on Amsterdam Central Station. You can imagine it was hard to hear her on the other end of the phone since it’s always so busy there 
:ugh: I won’t be going to my hometown this weekend so I can study in solitude at my student apartment. My mom told me my parents would visit my sister on saturday and asked if I could also come round. I told her a little flustered I planned on staying in Leiden because I was BUSY with studying not just for fun and next to that I can’t use my OV during the weekend…
My mom offered to pay for the trainticket, but I said I REALLY needed to study for my exams. So she got a little mad 
awwwww~ I really felt sorry for saying no, but well exams first - right? I think my mom misses me at home, now that my father has retired she’s outnumbered at home when it comes to *GIRL POWER* 
My brother and father versus my mom *eeeep* She does talk to my sister on the phone almost everyday. But haha~ she has 2 very different daughters with 2 very different personalities and range of topics to talk about
In the train back to Leiden I decided to send her a short text message saying I would come home next week, would visit Amsterdam one more day and stay in our hometown for almost 1,5 months during summerbreak. I think she would be able to enjoy an ‘Aleida-free’ weekend I got a message back telling me it sounded as music to her ears to have an ‘Aleida-free’ weekend, hahaha~ Seriously moms can be so sweet! 
So don’t worry mom - I’m OK !!! I will be home next week so we can chat about the neighbours, the house, the dirty laundry *sigh*

lol~ your mom is very sweet! aleida-free weekend! hahaha!! my mom asks me to come home quite often, because she knows that i’m not eating properly… which is…. true…. 
anyways, i really missed reading your blog and it was the correct decision to pay you a visit. haha.
Awe~ Makes me think of my Mom and how I slowly had to visit them less & less as college got harder & harder.
My parents are the same way more or less. I was thinking about going away for the summer, and I swear my parents are pretending like I never asked. Oy! But it sounds like your mom is pretty accepting of your need to be away.
Your mom sounds like mine - overprotective and needy, but great all at the same time. She is the greatest person, but she can drive me insane. I love hearing about life over seas. I find it really interesting, life in Amsterdam and what not. Anyway, I hope that your weekend is a great one - take care of yourself.
I want to go to amsterdam.. hehe moms are really great.. someone told me that when you looooose your mom you’ll surely cry a river… hehe you’re right that serious moms are sweet.. hehe
My mum is like that as well. I stay at my uncle and aunty’s house on the weekdays when I go to Uni and then I come home on the Weekends. However I barely spend time at home because on Friday I go out with friends, Saturday I study and on Sunday I have work. Mum sometimes gets angry/upset because she feels like I use home as a ‘pitstop’ ^^’ Even though Mum and I fight alot, because of competing and similar characteristics, she was really excited to have me home for the holidays.
Mum’s can be annoying, however it’s just they love their children too much :3

Sorry about missing the last entry T____T I’m just really busy with my exams. God I hate them I always feel like crap after. I actually should be studying right now but I just can’t it’s like my brain says no because it’s too much LOL.
Awww your mom is just like my mom. She get’s butt hurt too when I say things like that. But what can we do it’s not like we control what we do LOL….
