My Hometown
It always amazes me how summer vacation flies by. The end of my vacation is near and soon it will be time to leave my hometown again. I had a wonderful summer even though it mostly consisted of doing totally nothing
I did some chores around my parents’ house, got very spoiled by them, walked my dog and spend many hours in Second Life meeting the most wonderful people. It felt really good to spend time in my hometown, all my memories are here…
When walking my dog on those silent sunday evenings I look around and take it all in again. My high school across my block I still know where in which classroom I had what class. I loved going to school there and at that final hour of Maths I used to point out the window and tell my classmates: “Heyyy look that’s my dog walking there !!!” They would ask who the man was with my dog
and I used to reply: “Ehh? Ohh - that’s my dad !!!!”
Hahah - always forgot about that~ The building has changed just a little over the years, but it’s still the same as when I graduated on my birthday on 25.06.2003
Hahaha~ I just looked at my elementary school certificate and I ALSO ‘graduated’ there on my birthday 25.06.1996 :clover: Must be a very very lucky day !!!
I also pass the old indoor swimming pool where I got my one and only swimming diploma
it is now a sportscentrum only and the pool is gone. But the whole building is still there! Man - it’s just amazing this is all in less than a 1km radius of my parents’ home. Even if I lived in the capital city of the province I still lived in a very safe and protected home area filled with memories of growing up. When I left for Leiden it could have been a shock, but Leiden is such a sweet place. I really see it as my home now too. And I never thought it would, but it also feels good to be in Amsterdam
:twinkle: the constant movement, the people - hahah yes it’s a big city, but my faculty is tucked away in the heart of Amsterdam at a super cute location… Still it will never be the same as my hometown - a place I hope I will always be able to return to ~

Reading your blog made me feel all happy and stuff. It’s wonderful to see that someone enjoys the “little things” as much as I do.

hohoooo~ do you remember me? I’m sorry! It’s been a long while. ;__; glad that you’re doing fine. it’s time for me to catch up with my friends!
Actually I have so many things that I want to tell you but that doesn’t really fit into here, because some aspects are more personal. haha! ^O^;;
Anyway~ What I want to tell you is that I really enjoy reading your blog.

I hope you had a good time visiting your hometown again, and all those memories. I’ve “played” Second Life but I never really got the hang of it. I always got lost there X_X

It must have been nice going to your home and remember everything..
I guess many of us do that to see how much we’ve grown and became more mature..
Graduation in your birthday? that must have been nice. (:
Good luck with everything!

Summers are amazing like that. I wish the school year went by as fast as they did. It must be great going back to your home town.

Oooh, your hometown sounds real nice :3! Hehe, summer always makes me feel nostalgic. Maybe because I have way more time in my hands, or it’s the heat, but hey, it just does.

It’s great that you enjoyed your summer. It really did seem to fly by this year. And you’re lucky to have so many nice memories of everything there. Hopefully you’ll be able to go back often. =)

Yes it’s weird how time flies so fast this time of the year. It seems like it was the beginning of june just the other day. I can’t believe that in a couple of weeks fall will be here. I wish the summer was longer.
I do the exact same thing as you when I visit the place where I grew up. I too walk around alone in the evening, passing buildings and places from my past, remembering all the fun and the sad things that happened there. It’s special to go back to the place where you grew up. Memories seem to come alive there.

It seems to me that you had such a beautiful day in your hometown. I’m glad you did.
You have a swimming diploma? That’s awesome. I love swimming.
Hometown is such a sweet place when you’re leaving it. It’s true

Haha, I wasted my holidays away as well. I mean, four months of not doing anything! My mother was on my case all the time till she gave up, haha.
Aww, you must miss it a lot when you’re away. I know I would if I ever left my hometown.

I love going on vacations! It’s sad when you have to leave. I’m still in high school and I love it. I dont ever want to leave.

That’s nice that you enjoy both of the places that you live. I hope the same is true for me. It is the first time I am moving away for school so I’m a bit nervous. But I’m sure it’s going to be great, right? haha.

Aw, that’s so cool! Yeah, I’ve only been at college for about two weeks now and I’m already wishing I could go back home and see everything again!
