Blends of Grey
 To celebrate getting a (new) job I decided to get some new items for my wardrobe. Looking sharp at the working place is important and haha - I really needed some new clothes for the fall season
*tee-hee*
The first item I got my hands on is a grey slimfit jeans. I usually don’t like to buy light colored denim, because I love the somewhat sophisticated / slick feel darker denims have - dark denim jeans can look so darn classy
But the grey slimfit by H&M is very versatile. Wearing it with heels or boots make your outfit look truly cute, but with hot sneakers you can go for the tougher punky look.

The second item is a soft and probably one season only v-neck sweater :saylove:
I love to wear sweaters like that with a crisp white dress shirt under it. Maybe it looks a little classic, but I just love to wear it like that - yup pearl necklace included
Hahaha~ You can’t really see it on the pictures, but the fabric of both items is pretty sweet. Because I ordered these clothes through H&M.com I received a casual sweatshirt for FREE
:twinkle: Nice deal!
The only thing my wardrobe still lacks is a nice pair of shoes
I’m still not sure if I should go for high heels, just buy boots or go for sneakers *gulp*
My trusthworthy old cowboy boots are sooooooo ready for retirment …
The Waiting Game
Hmmm~ since I tend to be young and restless I try to practice my patience - whenever I can. But for a gadget girl it’s very hard for to wait *sigh* Now that I have found a pretty nice バイト I thought about buying a new desktop pc at the start of next year. But since I only know the basics of the specifications of a computer and it’s parts I decided to buy Hardware.info computer magazine to do some research. It uses loads of jargon, but is pretty understandable for a non computer specialist
The mag has an awesome article about the future chips of AMD (?). I already knew AMD has developed ‘Barcelona’ a true quad core chip, that means four cores are truly working together instead of 2x two cores put in seperately to work together like the quad core chips from Intel (?). The difference is that a true quad core chip from AMD has a better synergy between the cores and thus works faster and better. Next to that AMD already demonstrated a model that can work on 3 GHz! I already thought about buying a pc with a new Phenom chip in it, but …
Then I read on
and found out about Sandtiger which will be introduced in 2009 and is an octal core chip
:twinkle: No - not two, not four - but EIGHT cores !!! *shock* Of course a pc is not only made out of the chipset, but in 2008/2009 there will be another important development
Moving from BIOS (?) over to EFI (?) ~ er, what ?!!
Well let’s just keep it on: things are getting faster, better and easier for motherboard developers. Oh, EFI is already being used on different servers and Apple computers, but other developers like ASUS and MSI will probably start working with the new standard in 2008/2009.
So why this whole tech story?
Hmm ~ when I think about it … my laptop is now 1 year old and 2009 is not that far way - we almost live in 2008 now. Even though the development of chipsets and such will always be on the move I believe 2008 is a year for big changes. Next to that around 2010 Windows 7 is planned to be released - the successor of Vista!
Even if the wait for Windows 7 could be long, there is always an option to get a more stable version of Vista!
Suddenly a desktop pc with an early quad core processor and a slight unstable version of Windows Vista doesn’t sound that attractive anymore … I’m gonna play the waiting game!
Sweet Chris
At the start of June I met a very nice German guy in the virtual world of Second Life. I had met friendly chatty people before but I never expected to find someone I would *match* so well with
:twinkle: We talked for hours and roamed the virtual world together. Haha maybe that sounds funny but … we live probably 500 km away from each other
So instead of a somewhat static chatbox the dynamic world of SL is a pretty fun place to hang out in when you’re physically far away from each other ~
We have such a great time in the virtual world that slowly but surely our inworld contact slipped over to outworld
Sending and receiving e-mails and SMS messages during a busy day - woahh, truly sweet. I know it’s not always a smart thing to do, but we exchanged snail mail addresses because we wanted to swap some music and movies. I’ve had penpals from when I was 11 years old or something and also wrote to total strangers. So after we talked for several weeks, exchanged phone numbers and after he gave his address to me, I thought it would be ok to give Chris mine.
So when Chris told me he posted a package … :present: I got truly super curious and when I got home and opened it
:twinkle: Oh my ~ such a lovely package with coffee, chocolate, an über kawaiiiii big coffee mug and *kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa* a real Swatch Full Blooded Gold (?) watch !!!! I thought about getting it for sometime and talked about it with Chris who totally loves watches. But for him to actually go out and get it :saylove:
Thank you so much honey ~ He also packed his portable harddrive with an impressive collection of music and hot movies
Just too cool !!!
Since I do have to return the portable harddrive (with some movies and music to share too) I’m already working on a cute package too *tee-hee* Hahaha I’m not sure if I can top his HAMMA package - but
I’m so gonna send him a thank you package too!
