The French Guy
I always wonder if life acts like the seasons and some opportunities return in a fixed pattern…
On Wednesday I travelled to Amsterdam for classes. I was sitting in the train with my PSP plugged in and my nose in my new Traktor bible
 After we passed the train station of Schiphol Amsterdam Airport a guy came up to me and he asked if it was the train to Amsterdam - it sure was. He sat down unpacked his bag and grabbed a map
ahh so clearly a tourist. I’m used to tourists in the train so I didn’t pay much attention and went on reading my book.
Suddenly the guy started talking to me again
I quickly plugged out my PSP so I could pay attention to his words
He asked me if I knew a good place to stay, where all the good shops and restaurants were and shoved his map on my lap *gulp* I pointed a few things out to him on the map and told him to first go to the Tourist Information Centre after reaching Amsterdam Central station. He kept on smiling while he carefully listened to my ‘have to visit list’, I looked at him and noticed … he wasn’t badlooking at all BUT then I smelled it
:twinkle: h his perfume ~ Exactly the perfect blend and right tones *gasp*
He told me he was in Amsterdam for one day because of work and has never been to Amsterdam before so he didn’t know what to expect or where to begin. Hahaha~ I told him he should come back during summer because one day in Amsterdam is just too short! If the weather was better I would’ve showed him around Amsterdam and of course if I didn’t have any classes *sigh* I looked at him and the Sweet Talking Stranger came back to me. I could’ve easily told this French guy we could hook up later so I could help him out, but it started to feel like a bad chicklit. When the train pulled into Amsterdam I took one more whiff of his perfume - smiled and wished him goodluck
Just like last year I passed up this opportunity … hahah, I’m already curious what next year will bring me!
December
C can you believe it? It’s already December !!! *hufffff* Time flies when you’re having fun ~ At the moment I’m very busy with classes, work and spending most of my free hours in Second Life
I always thought the hours I spend in SL where somewhat crazy, but the hours I’m putting in now are truly insane *gulp* Starting up a business in SL takes up a lot of time, but still … it’s so much fun! I think it’s interesting that you’re able to learn much about management, networking and PR while investing only a few euro’s
And I love to see people enjoy something I worked on even if it’s pixels or bits & bites.
Works is going pretty well, but last friday was serious hell
The lottery had send out a letter with faultive information and a lot of people called in to check on their account and were worried or seriously pissed off. In the end we worked through close to 3500 phonecalls, mostly dealing about that one letter
But hey I know it’s part of the job and after that day I only have more respect for my job and my colleagues. When faulty letters go out or we get bad publicity and people call in we get hit with the first wave - sorta. Some outbound callers make jokes about inbound callers, but inbound callers are pretty cool because we defend the lottery and of course help our customers
:twinkle: Ehehehe ~
Currently my parents and sister are on a vacation to Java & Bali
lucky people. They will be away for 3 weeks or so and I kinda miss them. I already talked to them on the phone and received an e-mail, but I wish I was with them. Due to classes in Amsterdam I haven’t been able to go on a holiday with them because the timing was off *sigh* Next year it’s my plan to take more short trips e.g. a weekend London or Frankfurt. My mom and I are planning a week Paris so I’m looking forward to that :saylove:
Hmm, makes me wonder …
What would you like to do different in the year 2008 ?
