Goodbye Leiden
Thursday I went back to Leiden to pick up old mail and return the key of the appartment to my former roommate. My contract runs till June 1st, after that I’m an official resident of my hometown again
I had to work in the morning so I travelled from Amsterdam CS to Leiden. When I still lived in Leiden I always felt a little homesick when I saw the train to Amersfoort that leaves on platform 14B when I hopped on the train to Leiden that leaves on platform 14A *gulp* Now it’s the other way around … when I see the Leiden train I get this weird mix feeling of nostalgia and feeling happy. Even though living in Leiden was good, I’m happy I’m back in my hometown again.
So it felt a little weird to travel to Leiden again. Walking to my former appartment, seeing all the people rushing through the streets. Even though Leiden is a small city I noticed living in the city really made me miss “green”. Now I can walk my dog at the ponds close to my home and marvel at the beauty of the country side when I take the train to Amsterdam
I still need to make nice “travel by train through Holland” pictures / footage *lol*
Unfortunately my former roommate wasn’t at home when I arrived at the appartment. I had texted him saying I would come round that day. I had hoped to meet him and really say goodbye, but I guess he was busy with classes. I went through the mail and all the commercial folders we receive, picked up the mail and some parcels. It felt strange to see my old room, almost empty … my small desk and bookshelves on the place I left them… A sadness came over me, the place didn’t feel as my ‘home’ anymore.
At first I thought about waiting for my former roommate to come in. But since I had a date with Lucifer I had thought it was better to just leave. I did texted him about the keys though
Together with Lucifer I went to see Indiana Jones 4 at the cinema. I also scored a cool ‘Indiana Jones Wristband’ goodie
The movie was really good, but hahaha … I’ll write a review about it later this weekend. It’s time I wrote more of those ~
Ajax - FC Twente
Even though last week I had loads of b*tching people on the phone and I was seriously doubting my “baito” … at the end of the week I again remembered why I like to work at my current job
I won tickets to visit the soccer match “Ajax - FC Twente” !!!
I asked Klaas to come with me since he lives in Amsterdam and is a soccer fan. Since “Ajax - FC Twente” was a very important match for Ajax, Klaas agreed to visit it with me. It was the first soccer match I watched as a ‘visitor’ after working at the Euroborg (!). I was suprised to hear it was also Klaas’ first match in the ArenA
We travelled with the metro to the ArenA and of course it was filled with rowdy fans *gulp*
I sat across a guy who started to stare at me strangely and kept saying “chill ???” to me. It creeped me out. Luckily Klaas decided to stand in between us so he blocked the view to the drunk guy *phew* We got to the ArenA without any problems
The only thing we had to do was go to the bathroom and watch some soccer. Because we were afraid we wouldn’t be able to find a bathroom in time in the ArenA we decided to go to the bathroom at the Pathé cinema.
While we we’re searching for the bathroom a girl with a camera came up to us. She asked if Klaas and I would like to pose for a glamorous’ picture. It was a special promotion deal for Magnum Temptation NL
You can win a limousine ride for one night, champagne, a VIP treatment at a Pathé cinema and € 250,- pocket money to share with 7 friends. We don’t think we will win the big prize since we rushed into making the photo and ran to the bathroom right afterwards, but it was still fun to do. Once the picture is up on the website I might post it here too …
In the end the match between “Ajax - FC Twente” ended in 0 - 0. This meant that Ajax had lossed and wouldn’t be able to qualify the team for the Champions League … or something. Hahaha I’m not really good in all those divisions and such. Even though Ajax lossed the match I had a very fun time at the ArenA. Klaas and I watched the summary of the game later on TV - which was kinda crazy - but it was fun to see it on TV again and yell: “That’s our corner, we were sitting there !!!” .
Woops
Oops, I haven’t written a blogpost since some time
After writing about the weather that was still a little “ma-ma” or “mwoahhh” the temperature has totally risen here in The Netherlands. With a very summer-ish spring with temperature up to 27 degrees Celsius !!!
Time is still going waaaay too fast
I have so much stuff to do, but it seems I can’t find the time. Haha, I know I’m a person who says “you gotta make time” - but unfortunately it seems I’ve lost the touch *blegh* Maybe I should do more stuff in the train when I’m traveling from my hometown to Amsterdam and back. But lately I’ve found myself staring outside the window enjoying the Dutch landscape listening to my favorite music with my iPod plugged in
Talking about favorite music … I’ve discovered the Cut Up Boys - they are true mash-up kings !!! Hahaha, since I started to practice my DJ skills I’ve been trying hard to broaden my music knowledge. I believe knowing your tracks is a very important element of being a good DJ. The next step is of course being able to mix your songs together. You need skills for that and song knowledge
But woahh ~ The Cut Up Boys take it to a much higher level with their mash-ups …
With their mash-up mixes they not only show they have serious song knowledge, but they also have the skills … They’re on a waaaay higher level because it’s pretty hard to create a HOT mash-up song and next to that they are able to mix those mash-ups together !!! Gahh - words are not able to describe the HAWTNESS of their mixes. You just have to listen to them sometime
Er, what’s a ‘mash-up’ ?!! You’re asking … Well to put it short a mash-up is a song created by from the combination of the music of one song with the ‘a capella’ (singing without music) from another song
You can read more about it on Wikipedia ~
Before I go bask in the sun
I would like to thank everybody who commented and is interested in helping out with Elocutio.nu. The site won’t be a ‘high-end’ fashion website focusing on big brands and stuff … it will focus more on personal style and semi mainstream fashion … sorta kinda … Hahaha that must’ve sound vague - anyway I will get back to you as soon as I’ve finished the layout and categories and such !!!
