The Day Off
Ahhhh~ I know there are loads of people who thought (or still think) I was crazy to give up my shared appartment in Leiden and move back to my hometown in the province. I still study at the University of Amsterdam and work in Amsterdam too. Train delays always remind me of the fact my hometown is much much further away from Amsterdam than Leiden. But, on off days like today… I love to be here in my hometown.
The weather was so lovely today so I took an extra long walk with my already 11 year old chocolate lab. I have several ponds around my house with loads of tall gras and trees, it’s a perfect place to walk the dog. It’s always fun to see how my dogs enjoys the breeze by sticking his nose up and closing his eyes. Hahaha he had a good walk and now he’s sleeping under the table!
I think off days like these make working and attending university in Amsterdam while living in the province not that bad, hehehe not that bad at all. I’m looking forward to more relaxing off days in my hometown *tee-hee*
Ah about things to look forward too *gulp* New layout is coming up, I’m also adding a twitter thingy and my Elocutio website will launch in fall - gahhhh, so much to do! There goes my off day…

Let me tell you… I’m jealous of you getting to live in your hometown! I live over 1000 miles from my home and miss is TERRIBLY.
It’s your call in the end, whatever floats your boat. I can definitely understand the bit about loving the hometown though.
Dogs! Dogs are adorable in my book. They’re air hoarders, yes? They like to feel fresh and cold air on their faces, and it’s always enjoyable to watch them enjoy themselves.
It’s cool you live in your hometown. I don’t think I ever would because I desperately hate the public transportation system here lol.
Your home town sounds lovely. If only Dubai could have cool breezes and actual vegetation other than weeds.
But for me, I live so close to school and still I have to wake up at 6AM due to traffic. I can’t picture what it’d be like to live even further away.
Kudos! Good luck with the new layout, even though I love this one (:
It all sounds wonderful to me! I would love to visit Amsterdam someday! Stuck in America, unfortunately. I also recently left to live elsewhere and returned home. There is seriously no place like it, it’s hard to leave!
I would be glad to live in my hometown to. And dogs! I love dogs. Your lab sounds like he’s a good one!
Wow, the surroundings of your home sounds beautiful! I’m not usually much of an active person, but if I lived where you lived (and had a dog), I’d take a walk everyday! ![]()
I wish I could travel more, I would love to go to Amsterdam. It sounds really nice. Maybe one day. For now I’m stuck in the US, which I love, but it would be nice to venture off somewhere.
I’m with you - I’d much rather be somewhere I enjoy on my days off, rather then having to spend part of my off day traveling to that place. ![]()

First of all I need to update my blog (+ new layout as well). I hope you’re doing fine! I’m doing so-so but it’s okay. ^^;; Just want to let you know that I didn’t forget you!! Take care~
