Time Loop

Last week I spend at home being sick. It feels as if I’m in a time loop - time seems to go by slowly, but I’m still not able to do much during these slow hours *sigh* Maybe that’s just part of being under the weather. I planning on going to work on Tuesday and try to catch classes too.

While being at home I’ve tried to start my fall clean up. After I moved from Leiden to my hometown I stored most of my things in my bedroom, but I have so many books they just need a proper place. I finally got my hands on the bookshelve from IKEA I wanted. Setting up the new bookshelve is the first step in cleaning up my room. It’s not that I love clutter, I just don’t like to throw away stuff *sigh* especially books! I still have some studybooks which are usually pretty useless after you used them, but maybe I can sell them through the internet. They are management books and those books are somewhat popular - right? *gulp*

My room hasn’t changed from the moment I went to university. That’s some years ago now *blush* I want to turn it into a room of a young woman not a girl :P So it’s probably going to be a mix of sleep / livingroom with stuff I can still use once I got my own place (somewhere in the future). I truly love decorating so my hands are itching to get busy!

At the moment my fall clean up / redecorating plans are a little on hold. I still have 3 weeks to go at my parttime job in Amsterdam. After that I’m going to take the rest of the year off to redecorate my room and focus on classes. I planned on quiting my job earlier, but I first wanted to try and combine uni & work. After a long summervacation I enjoyed classes again and I just got this urge to suck up all the knowledge *aheheheh*

Being a college student is actually pure bliss! Learning new things, drinking coffee, grow not only as a student, but as a person - oh and hahaha you’re still young too ~ HUUURAAAAYYYY for student life !!! Ok ok that sounded a bit nutty, maybe the meds have kicked in. I hope to write a more coherent entry next time when I’ve escaped this time / brain loop thing!

The Day Off

Ahhhh~ I know there are loads of people who thought (or still think) I was crazy to give up my shared appartment in Leiden and move back to my hometown in the province. I still study at the University of Amsterdam and work in Amsterdam too. Train delays always remind me of the fact my hometown is much much further away from Amsterdam than Leiden. But, on off days like today… I love to be here in my hometown.

The weather was so lovely today so I took an extra long walk with my already 11 year old chocolate lab. I have several ponds around my house with loads of tall gras and trees, it’s a perfect place to walk the dog. It’s always fun to see how my dogs enjoys the breeze by sticking his nose up and closing his eyes. Hahaha he had a good walk and now he’s sleeping under the table!

I think off days like these make working and attending university in Amsterdam while living in the province not that bad, hehehe not that bad at all. I’m looking forward to more relaxing off days in my hometown *tee-hee*

Ah about things to look forward too *gulp* New layout is coming up, I’m also adding a twitter thingy and my Elocutio website will launch in fall - gahhhh, so much to do! There goes my off day…

Hanging in there

So the first week of September is over and the second week is about to begin. Due to my wonderful work schedule and changes in class schedules I missed my first introduction class *sigh* I felt pretty bummed about this, because I think it’s important to start a year good by going to the introduction class. But I’m not gonna let it jynx my year just yet. Even though the classes are early in the morning and late on the day on friday (whose idea was that!) I still plan on going to all the classes! Study power up ~

Work has been busy as hell, probably because the company decided to send out new mailings again. There are always so many people calling with questions about them. Last friday I had to work a 6 hours shift and during that time we kept on having 15 people on hold *gahhhh* Crazy! I was glad I could go home to enjoy the weekend. As usual the weekend flew by waaaaay too fast.

At the moment I’m busy finishing the website of Luci’s internet radiostation. I’m only used to making simple Wordpress layouts, so it was a real challenge to work and build pages to work with the radiostation software. Hahaah I will spare you all the details till I’ve finished the website and give the link to it here. I can say I’ve learned many new things again and woah I wish I knew much much more about coding.

Combining classes, work, travels & Second Life ® is hard at the moment. While working on coding the website I didn’t log in. Even though I’m working on new concepts together with Luci I’m not sure how long I will stay an active resident. I love what I do, but it’s hard to find serious people. And with all the content theft going on, it’s hard to become a creative content creator *sigh* We shall see were it leads …
